Our last full day in Rome was a rainy one. It was just pouring and miserable. We didn’t have any firm plans, but had seen some advertisements for a traveling exhibition that was in Rome. There were several exhibits halls to choose and we purchased an admission package that got us into the dinosaur exhibit, the science exhibit and the Lego exhibit. It was expensive and not quite as educational as we would have hoped, but it was indoors. The kids had a pretty good time and it wasn’t very crowded due to it being a rainy Friday morning.
Back to the Science Museum
After we were done with the exhibits it was lunch time and we headed to get some food. We visited a pizzeria that we had been to a few days earlier as it was half decent pizza and was close to the Children’s Museum the kids wanted to revisit in the afternoon.
It was still raining but it had at least slowed down a little by the time we made it to the Science Museum. The boys had had such a fun time earlier in the week they were excited to get back and play on their favorite exhibits.
Last Dinner in Rome
When our afternoon session at the museum was done we went back to the hotel. My wife called the concierge to make a dinner reservation at Emmas we had visited and enjoyed a few days before. We got an early reservation for when they opened.
Luckily by the time we headed out for dinner the rain had mostly let up. We had a fantastic dinner and wanted to top off the meal with the gelato we had during the pizza and gelato tour.
We couldn’t quite remember the name at the time, but I was able to retrace our steps from the tour to find the place. It was just as good this time as the last time. In fact after finishing mine, I collected the rest of the cash and coins and there was just enough to get seconds (they didn’t accept credit cards). It was amazing!
We made our way back to the hotel one last time. We had an early wake up call the next day to head back to the airport to catch our morning flight.
