Takeaways

While we had four nights in San Diego, in reality, we only spend three days there, and one of them was Christmas when we didn’t do much other than stay in the room. That’s abnormal for us as we’re usually out and about. The boys enjoyed having their uncle around.

The room was far from the fanciest we’ve been in, but it served it’s purpose well, and we got an excellent price. It’s rare to find a non-suite hotel room that fits five people, especially one for the price we paid. Having a view of the bay and being so close to the water was a bonus we appreciated!

There are a lot of museums and activities we had on our todo list, including going to the Coronado Hotel beach, visiting La Jolla, and a half dozen museums that looked interesting. We could have pushed to do some of those, though we have no regrets for taking a more relaxed approach.

We enjoyed the mild weather, though it wasn’t as warm as we had hoped. One day it got in the upper 60’s, but most days, it was in the lower 60’s. That’s normal for that time of year, according to the locals we talked to.

We would come back here. This was our second time in San Diego. While we enjoyed it the first time, we liked it even better the second time. It has a very relaxed vibe, and Tomatico loved all the great Mexican food! There would be no shortage of new things to experience on our next trip!
