We all slept well but it was hard getting up when the alarm went off. The restaurant opened at 7:00 and we wanted to be there soon after so we could be done by the time school started online at 8:00. The sun was still coming up which made it harder to motivate the boys.
Breakfast and School
At breakfast we just had to give our server a breakfast voucher card. We were able to order whatever we wanted off the menu and it was included with the voucher. It was very convenient and saved a lot of time and money. The food was pretty good as well. It was much better than the breakfast the previous day at the Holiday Inn since it was fresh and made to order.
Since it was our first day at the hotel it wasn’t quite as efficient as we had hoped but we managed to get back to our room in time for the start of school.
Tomatico set himself up in the living room table. Our youngest set himself up at the large dining room table. My wife took over the master bedroom and I also found space at the dining room table. The setup was excellent. The only complaint I have is that there weren’t many power outlets so we had to swap plugs periodically in order to keep our devices charged. That’s a minor complaint since there was just so much space to spread out in, though I contemplated going out and buying a power strip
For lunch, since timing was tight, we ended up ordering food at the pool restaurant, Corkscrews, to bring back to the room. Since we had multiple tables in the room it was very convenient. All the refrigerators in the room were stocked with water bottles, too, so we didn’t have to worry about buying drinks.
We went sligthly over our $50 credit since food is pretty expensive. This was even though we only bought kids meals, but it was still less than what we’d pay off property and much more convenient.
Enjoying After School
Once classes were done, the boys were in their bathing suits and racing to the pool as soon as they hit the “Leave” buttons on their Zoom sessions. They took full advantage of the slides, river, pools, lawn games, and ping pong. There were very few people around which made it even better. No lines!
As dinner approached we decided to go out. We went to a mall we had been to in our previous trip. It had lots of restaurants. We ended up splitting up as my youngest wanted to go to Ford’s Garage, a chain that specializes in burgers while my wife and Tomatico got something more interesting. We all enjoyed our food before heading back to the hotel.
Cool Beans!
Back at the hotel my youngest and I decided to get ice cream as Tomatico and my wife had had dessert with their meal. We used another one of our precious coupons and also got some (overpriced, but free) snacks for school the next day. We were becoming regulars!
After dessert we settled down and went to bed. We had one more school day left to the week before we could relax and take full advantage of the hotel for the weekend.
